Rector of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, Chairwoman of the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland
A Polish literary scholar, Polish philologist, translator, and professor of the humanities. She specializes in the history of literature, contemporary literature, and literary theory. She headed the Department of Literary Semiotics at the Institute of Polish Philology within the Faculty of Polish and Classical Philology at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań from 2011 to 2020. Between 2005 and 2012, she served as Deputy Director for Research at the Institute of Polish Philology, and from 2012 to 2016, she was Dean of the Faculty of Polish and Classical Philology. From 2016 to 2020, she held the position of Vice-Rector for Student Affairs at Adam Mickiewicz University, and since September 1, 2020, she has been the Rector of the same university. In 2024, she was re-elected for a second term as rector (2024-2028). In 2020, she was elected Chairwoman of the Conference of Rectors of Polish Universities (KRUP), and in 2024, she was chosen as Chairwoman of the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland (CRASP). The author or co-author of nearly 100 scholarly works, including books and articles. Her academic work primarily focuses on 20th-century literature and literary criticism. She is also a translator of English-language prose, with a particular emphasis on children’s literature, which is her great passion. She was awarded her doctoral degree in 1995, habilitation in 2001, and in 2015, the title of Professor of the Humanities.
