The Institute for Advanced Studies in Social Science and Humanities (IAS) was  founded on January 1, 2021. The opening of the IAS reflects the ongoing efforts to implement the IDUB excellence program (“Excellence Initiative – Research University”) at AMU. The IAS is an umbrella structure and a no-wall institution intended to assist the AMU academic community in increasing its international research collaboration cooperation within social sciences and humanities (HUMSOC). Its operating budget from the IDUB is 10 million PLN (or ca. 2.5 million euros) and it intends to be actively seeking external funding sources.
